Where to watch birds at Lac du Der?

Located to the south of the lake, it’s an ideal vantage point from which to watch Sandhill Cranes take to the skies in the early hours of the morning or return from the fields. Numerous islands in front of the dike are ideal for parking birds during migration.

At the foot of the building, you’ll have a view of the exit from the south basin in front of the large footbridge. In winter, large numbers of birds come here to swim and land on the mud banks opposite.

To the south of Lac du Der, the harbor of the nautical station is often occupied by birds, summer and winter alike. Barn swallows, window swallows, black-headed gulls and common terns take advantage of the facilities to land and flutter around you.
