This tour offers you a glimpse of the metallurgical adventure of the Blaise Valley.
The Canal des Fabriques is part of the metallurgical history of the Blaise Valley in the 19th century. Iron ore, extracted in the Der forest, particularly at Pont Varin, supplied the many local foundries until 1922. At that time, the factories of Allichamps, Buisson and Châtelier were linked by the Canal des Fabriques, which transported iron to the factories of Saint-Dizier and Brousseval. From Louvemont, follow the canal, cross Allichamps then enter the Der national forest to return near the Château du Bois Lapierre and rejoin the canal.
