  • The Museum of the School of the Past proposes to make the public discover what the school was like from the beginning of the twentieth century until the 1970s. The Museum of the School of the Past proposes to make the public discover what the school was like from the beginning of the twentieth century until the 1970s. To make the nostalgic fibre vibrate in the oldest pupils or to give a glimpse of a past unimaginable in the digital age for the youngest, the museum, through a collection of objects like no other, retraces the lives of schoolchildren from the 1930s onwards. From blotting paper to the right point, from clogs to desks, from pencil holders to slate pencils, from blackboards to wall maps, to student and teacher mannequins, everything is harmonized to highlight objects that have sometimes disappeared. Real-life scenes of life, such as children bickering, bowls heating up on the stove, the punished pupil and his donkey cap, captivate the attentive visitor to the explanations given by the "master" in a humorous tone or by the volunteers. The museum also exhibits old toys that sometimes leave children perplexed as to their use.
