BORMONA NATURE

Created in March 2021, Bormona Nature is an eco-citizen association.

It has various missions, one of which is the main one, that of alerting, informing and sensitizing citizens and elected officials on the pollution linked to the throwing of cigarette butts and its dangerousness.

A single cigarette butt pollutes 500 liters of water. It contaminates rivers, groundwater and all the ecosystems that are interdependent of this polluted water, up to the sea.
In France, 30 to 40 billion cigarette butts are thrown on the ground each year.

The first single-use plastic waste found on the ground, the cigarette butt filter is made of cellulose acetate.
Bormona Nature carries out cigarette butt collection actions and sends them for recycling to the French company MéGO! located in Finistère, which promotes them as street furniture.

Bormona is a personality closely linked to our local history. This Celtic-Gallic goddess of springs and rivers is associated with the thermal springs of Bourbonne-les-Bains, located in the south of the Haute-Marne department.
