  • The Château du Grand Jardin is a historical monument not only because of its chateau, but also because of its gardens, exceptional testimonies to the French way of life during the Renaissance (middle of the 16th century). Built by the 1st Duke of Guise, Claude de Lorraine (grand-father of Mary Queen of Scots), it served as a "pleasure ground" like those he admired while accompanying the King of France during his campaigns in Italy.
