Here, in this land of secret valleys haunted by the tutelary silhouette of Charles de Gaulle, the monks of Clairvaux chose, in 1194, to harvest clusters of grapes to entrust them to the vaults of the great chapter house, Wine and later champagne. For more than eight centuries, in Colombé le Sec, the Gothic columns of the cellar to the monks harbor the crops. Today, the Calon-Egger family raises them to an elegant champagne, heir to the history of the deep country of the Aube.

Established on a clay-limestone soil typical of the Côte des Bar, the vineyard is planted with 2/3 pinot noir, the last 1/3 in chardonnay.
