The lake's visiting card

Lac du Der, Champagne’s answer to the seaside.
Since it was filled in 1974, Lac du Der has become popular with tourists and as a place for recreation and relaxation.
With a shoreline covering a distance of 77 km and a surface area of 4,800 hectares, the lake offers a wide range of water sports. As to the surrounding countryside of meadows and hedgerows, it is ideal for walking and is dotted with some superb timbered buildings.

Lac du Der, a favourite with birds.
When the lake waters are low, migratory birds stop for a while on their long trip. Indeed, a number of rare birds come to Lac du Der and it is an internationally renowned birdwatching location.
