Lac du Der is outstanding for its beautiful scenery and myriad of flora and fauna. It is a holiday venue, an area for leisure activities and a place to relax.
The developments of the last twenty years on and around Lac du Der make this an attractive tourist venue with two main seasons.
The summer season from April to September, when the lake is full.

This is the time for water sports.
The 4,800 hectares of water in Lac du Der are divided into three zones :
• a vast area of almost 3,500 hectares for
boating and
fishing. On the banks are 6 beaches from which
to go swimming• a 600-hectare zone for
motor boats open for use from 15th March to 15th October.
• a large, permanently tranquil area of 700 hectares set aside for birds, where boating is prohibited.
The winter season from October to March, when the water level is low.
