Discovery lake
A haven for birds
200 species of bird flock to the waters of Lac du Der every year. Some live here permanently; others are migratory, but there is always plenty for enthusiastic birdwatchers to see, in summer and winter. The symbol of the lake remains the common crane. Every autumn, thousands of these birds take over Lac du Der for a few days during their migration southwards.
